Is WanderingCodex free to use?

Yes. Every feature is available at this time. There is an optional supporter tier that helps cover hosting costs, but you do not need it to build worlds, run games, or tell stories.

What can I build here?

A living Lexicon (wiki) of pages, a cast of characters you own and play across worlds, play-by-post stories and boards, campaigns with encounters and rewards, and a real-time live session board for running a game at the table.

Do my worlds and characters belong to me?

Yes. Your personas are yours and travel with you between worlds. World owners and moderators shape their own worlds, while players always own their own characters.

Can I import my existing notes?

Yes. From world Settings you can import .md, .txt, .csv/.tsv, .html, and Word .docx files as Lexicon pages, up to 10 at a time.

Can I share a world publicly?

Yes. Worlds set to public or unlisted can be shared as a clean, read-only reader that needs no account. You can also export any page or a whole world as Markdown.

Is there a mobile app?

WanderingCodex works in your browser on any device and can be installed to your phone home screen, with opt-in push notifications for replies, your turn, and mentions.
